Lynchburg, VA - Stockroom Clerk- Pay: $16/HR

DESCRIPTION:

The primary function of this position is to provide administrative support in the organization and maintenance of a workforce management system, plant warehouse, and storage areas. Additionally, the Stockroom Clerk will provide backup support for other staff in functions such as access control, reception, accounts payable, and other administrative duties as required within the department.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Perform receptionist duties and assist other staff with data collection.

  • Label and enter data into databases regarding equipment, parts, and other stored materials.

  • Occasionally perform physical inventories on materials (as needed).

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs minimum.

  • Operate office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, printers, etc., and arrange for repairs when necessary.

  • Assist and instruct others on the operation of office equipment as needed.

  • Handle sensitive materials with appropriate confidentiality.

  • Perform other administrative functions as assigned.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Exposure to outdoor elements and unheated storage areas at times.

  • May be exposed to disagreeable odors and conditions while working in storage areas.

    Qualifications:

  • Strong data entry skills and computer proficiency required.

  • Ability to handle sensitive materials confidentially.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to lift 35 lbs minimum.

  • Ability to adapt to varying physical and environmental conditions.
